Proverbs 19:18
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Proverbs 23:13,14
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
 

Comment:
The American people have tragically followed the ungodly teachings of men such as Dr. Spock and others in the discipline of children. The result is what you see in our society today. By in large the values that were once instilled into our children are no longer being done. This has resulted in a generation of young people who crave entertainment and worldly activity and lack the discipline once instilled in our youth, Most have not been trained up in the ways of the Lord and many disrespect father, mothers and the authorities.

Our laws have become so out of whack that a Godly parent could be put in jail for using a switch or other rod to correct  his child which our forefathers and mothers practiced, because it was taught from  the Bible, and should be practiced today. We only have ourselves to blame for the condition we find ourselves in; with so many so called Christians departing from true Christian principles. May God have mercy on us! Elder Claude McKee
