Selected
Scripture
Hebrew 11:6
"But without faith, it
is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe
that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
him."
Comment:
This scripture plainly states that it is
impossible to please Him (God) without faith. Would accepting the
Lord as your personal savior be pleasing to God? If it would be, then
this scripture says you cannot do that without having faith.
The worldly false doctrine on salvation goes about
like this: "Hearing is essential to initial
salvation. One cannot be saved without faith in Jesus (John
3:16;Hebrews 11-6) and one cannot gain faith without hearing the
gospel. Paul explained, "So then faith cometh by hearing , and hearing by the word
of God" Roman 10:17) Hearing is also necessary to remain saved as a
Christian. (Galatians 5:4; 2Peter
2:20-22;Revelatons2:7)" - From a local magazine delivered to my
door.
Their doctrine is absurd and dishonors God and his
revealed word. The scriptures they use clearly show it is an
impossibility for a dead alien sinner to perform any act, that is
pleasing to God, without first having faith.
"By faith Abel offered unto God a more
excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he
was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead
yet speaketh." (Hebrews 11:2) Ask yourself, where did Abel get
his faith? There were no gospel preachers. Wasn't Cain and Abel the
first sons of Adam and Eve?
Faith is the gift of God, it is given by God to his
children when He quickens them from a dead alien sinner unto a born
again child of God. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest
any any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) Elder Claude
